Garlic pear (Varun)

✅Garlic pear known as Varun in Marathi is a medium-sized deciduous tree found throughout India. It is especially found along riverbanks.

✅Varun flower buds are green in color and they are not closed as other flower buds. One might confuse them for flowers but they are buds.

✅The Varun tree is an Ayurvedic medicinal tree. Its bark finds its use in the treatment of Urinary tract-related problems.

✅There is a postal stamp commemorating the Varun tree which was released in 1981. It is valued at 50 paise.

✅One can find this tree at the Empress Botanical Garden in front of RRBCEA.
