Sita Ashok

✅Sita Ashok or True Ashok translates to A-Shoka meaning ‘Without grief’. It finds references in the Epic Ramayan hence the name Sita Ashok.

✅It is an evergreen, small-sized tree native to India, Burma, and Malaya. The flowers are a beautiful bright red and orange with a sweet fragrance to them.

✅The tree is becoming rarer in the wild and is categorized as Vulnerable in the IUCN red list.

✅Sita Ashok is highly medicinal and is used to treat hormonal imbalances in female.

✅There are 5 full-grown individuals of Sita Ashok in the Empress Botanical Garden and they are currently flowering. Come catch a glimpse before the blooms are gone!
