Bahava(Amaltaas)

✅Bahava in Marathi and Amaltas in Hindi is also commonly known as The Golden Shower tree or India Laburnum.

✅It is native to the Indian subcontinent and is a medium-sized deciduous tree. It is the official state flower of Kerala and Delhi UT.

✅To commemorate this tree a stamp was released in 1981. Its fruit pods are of great medicinal value.

✅Bahava is a larval host plant for many butterflies, especially the Emigrants and Yellows.

✅The tree is blooming right now and there are two individuals of Bahava in the Empress Botanical Garden.
