Krishna Kamal

✅Krishna Kamal in Hindi and Passionflower in English are tendril-bearing vines that are either woody or herbaceous.

✅Their distribution is neotropical although they have been naturalized beyond their native range.

✅The flowers are brightly colored and adapted to pollination by many animals. Usual pollinators are bumblebees, carpenter bees, sunbirds, and hummingbirds.

✅The vine itself is a host plant for several butterflies including Tawny Coster and Leopard Lacewing.

✅There are multiple passion flower vines in the medicinal plant patch of RRBCEA, Empress Botanical Garden, Pune.
