Touch-me-not plant

✅Touch-me-not plant is a wonder-inducing plant that grows wild in the tropical world. Its scientific name is Mimosa pudica; the species name ‘pudica’ is Latin for bashful, shrinking.

✅The leaflets are sensitive to touch, heat, blowing, and shaking. This reflex has evolved against predators as a defense mechanism and/or to protect plants from loss due to evaporation.

✅The flowers of Touch-me-not plants are soft and delicate. They are usually pollinated by wind and insects.

✅Its roots are a habitable place for nitrogen-fixing bacteria and make good use of atmospheric nitrogen by fixing it for itself and surrounding plants.

✅It is a host plant for Blue Pansy, Yellow Pansy, and common grass yellow butterflies.
