Rupa Rahul Bajaj Centre for Environment & Art (RRBCEA) brings to you an online session on:
Sustainable Living – with Shirish Kanitkar
Saturday, 31st October 2020, 6.30 PM
Every person has a certain lifestyle that he or she maintains and has an aspiration for. This lifestyle is acquired overtime as is a result of various factors that govern our needs and wants. What are these factors? Are we conscious of these? Are we conscientious of our needs and wants? If you are just beginning on this journey of understanding the meaning of sustainable living, then join us for a sharing session with co-travellers Shirish and your host Kedar.
Shirish likes to describe himself as just another traveller in this journey experimenting with different aspects of living. As a trekker and traveller, he was fascinated with nature and people living in near harmony with nature. After pursuing his interest through a course at Ecological Society, Pune and getting a well-rounded and holistic understanding of this kind of living, Shirish has been trying to practice and advocate voluntary simplicity. This is an opportunity to share thoughts and experiences.
Shirish has worked in the field of Information Technology for over 15 years before turning his focus towards ecology and sustainability. He has been involved with several initiatives like rural livelihoods, nature conservation, sustainable transportation, and environment education and awareness. He has also helped define sustainability projects as part of Corporate Social Responsibility.
